Were you or your business the victim of a crime in Georgia?
Did the court order the offender to pay money back to you?
Is there a possibility you didn’t collect part or all of those funds?
When an offender is sentenced in court, part of their sentence may include paying restitution (money) back to the victim of the crime. When money is unclaimed by a victim or business for more than two years, it is transferred to the Crime Victims Emergency Fund. At that time, the Crime Victims Compensation’s Unclaimed Restitution Program makes attempts to locate and contact the victim or business.
If you have been awarded money that was collected and you haven’t yet claimed it, please contact us at 404-657-2222 or 800-547-0060.
